Tyquan Lewis And Curtis Samuel Make Career Decisions
Posted by: Steve - 01-16-2017, 09:30 PM - Forum: Football and Basketball - No Replies

CurtisSamuel

Two top players from the Ohio State University's football team have made critical decisions about their future. Curtis Samuel is heading to the NFL Draft, while Tyquan Lewis is going back to OSU for his senior year. Samuel has had a great season although OSU lost 31-0 to Clemson in a playoff semifinal game on December 31. Kurt Samuel is the only college player who has been able to achieve 700 yards in receiving and rushing in 2016. Samuel's coaches encouraged him to stay with OSU for the next year, but he has made his decision to join the 2017 NFL draft. Danny Landberg, his high school coach, shared with the Associate Press about Samuel's determination to join the NFL despite the coach's suggestions about the possibility of Samuel becoming a Heisman Trophy candidate. Landberg, was, however, very proud of Samuel's maturity.

Bill Davis to join Buckeyes' coaching team in defensive assistant role

It seems like Ohio State has decided on who will replace Luke Fickell as the defensive assistant for the Buckeyes.

On Wednesday, the team declared that Bill Davis, who has known Urban Meyer for many years and used to be a defensive coordinator for the NFL, will start with the squad at the end of the season. Fifty-one year old Davis worked with Ohio State in 2016 as an analyst.

The precise role that Davis will play in the defensive team, and the players he will work with, will be explained when the season ends.

Luke Fickell Is the New Head Coach for Cincinnati
Posted by: Steve - 12-14-2016, 08:54 AM - Forum: Football and Basketball - No Replies

LukeFickell

Saturday was full of some amazing announcements. One such announcement was that the Luke Fickell just received a green light from the Cincinnati Bearcats to be their head coach. Fickell was previously the defensive coordinator for Ohio State.

The only thing they are waiting for is a final stamp of approval from the Cincinnati Board of Trustees. That should occur during the meeting on Sunday. The school and Fickell agreed to have a six-year contract during Friday night negotiations.

The 40-year-old coach said that he was proud to accept the position. His demeanor was one of utter humility. When referencing Ohio, he mentioned it as a hardworking blue collar state that he respected to the fullest extent.

Buckeyes Make CFB Playoff History; OSU Meets Clemson In Fiesta
Posted by: Steve - 12-06-2016, 10:47 AM - Forum: Football and Basketball - No Replies

Coach_Dabo_Swinney

Just moments ago, Ohio State made CFB playoff history. The announcement will go down in the permanent records as one of the most exciting happenings yet.

Perhaps the most amazing news is that Ohio managed to get into the playoffs without dominating the conference championship. That's what makes this a piece of history. OSU is the first team to pull something like this off.

Ohio State University is going to be playing against Clemson in the Fiesta bowl on the last night in December. Clemson is the number 2 seed and OSU is the number 3 seed. The square off should be quite interesting for both parties.

The number 1 seed spot goes to Alabama. Alabama will be going up against the Washington Huskies, who hold the number 4 spot.

Buckeye Attention Turns To Demario McCall
Posted by: Steve - 12-05-2016, 12:33 AM - Forum: Football and Basketball - No Replies

Demario McCall

Demario McCall from Ohio State is showing that he is better than everyone thought

If MSU does not upset the odds, the young back ought to be worth watching in coming weeks.

After proving his potential against Rutgers and Bowling Green earlier this season, running back McCall was sidelined when things took a turn for the worse for Ohio State over four games in October. Nonetheless, with the Buckeye's consecutive 62/3 wins over Maryland and Nebraska, McCall has again caught the eye of the Ohio State team. Curtis Samuel, the H back, is on course to have a great season, so many have earmarked him for the NFL Draft of 2017 already. If this is true, then McCall may be OSU's next game changing playmaker.

  Malik Hooker Announces His Intentions

Malik Hooker

Malik Hooker 'absolutely certain' that he will return in 2017

Malik Hooker rose from obscurity to nationwide fame this year, as a record breaking safety for Number two Ohio State. He mentioned, in a Dispatch interview on Monday, that he is in no rush to depart, even if some people believe that he may enroll in the NFL draft after the season is finished.

"At the moment, it is absolutely certain that I am returning to the Buckeyes" Hooker said.

Hooker is a year three sophomore from Pennsylvania, who did not obtain starting status before this season, following an apprenticeship behind Tyvis Powell and Vonn Bell the prior two seasons. However, Hooker shot to notoriety in 2016, with six interceptions - featuring three that he sent back for touchdowns. That was a career record and a record for Ohio State's season.

Binjimen Victor Closer To A Massive Opportunity
Posted by: Steve - 11-17-2016, 12:01 PM - Forum: Football and Basketball - No Replies

Binjimen Victor

The passing game of the Buckeyes isn't as sharp and fluid as it should be and Coach Urban Meyer is looking for ways to change that. Binjimen Victor, a freshman wide receiver, is shaping up to be a key piece of the puzzle.

Many are saying that he has the potential to help Ohio State become a lot better in passing thanks to his 6'4" frame, fast feet, and excellent skills. He is getting lots of time in practice to improve his game.

At the Big Ten coaches conference call, Coach Meyer had great things to say about Victor. He lauded his level of talent at this young age and predicted an incredible future ahead.

Kevin Wilson Has Hoosiers Believing In Themselves
Posted by: Steve - 10-08-2016, 12:16 AM - Forum: Football and Basketball - No Replies

Kevin Wilson

Indiana's season can only be described as a close one at this time. About 75 percent of their games have been close call situations in which they won by 10 points or less. The last game that they had against Michigan state was such a game.

The Ohio State v Indiana game had a similar fate as the rest of them. Ohio state should have credit for not backing down in fear in the midst of difficult challenges.

Ohio State beat Michigan by three points in the first game that they had with Urban Meyer as the coach. Indiana had scored a whopping 22 points when the game first started, but Ohio State still came back and regained their winning crown.

Urban Meyer Says No To LSU Coaching Position
Posted by: Steve - 09-30-2016, 09:41 AM - Forum: Football and Basketball - No Replies

UrbanMeyerLsu

Urban Meyer will stay at Ohio State and says he is not interested in any position available at LSU. After LSU recently fired head coach Les Miles, reports began to come out stating that the Tigers would at least try to get in touch with Urban Meyer, even if the results would not be what they expect. Meyer gave confirmation on Tuesday that he is not interested in a position at LSU. He mentioned that he did not receive any calls from LSU and plans to remain at Ohio State as head coach.

Since LSU is targeting many big names right now, it is probably a smart move by Urban Meyer to make this announcement so early. This move doesn't come as much of a surprise, even if LSU is not successful in luring some of the best coaches in college football. Two other candidates that LSU may be scouting for are Florida State's Jimbo Fisher and Houston's Tom Herman (Ohio State's former offensive coordinator).

Buckeyes Snag The Win, Credit Pure Hunger
Posted by: Steve - 09-23-2016, 08:01 AM - Forum: Football and Basketball - No Replies

OhioStateOklahoma

Some might call it wishful thinking, but if you were to have suggested just a few days ago that the Buckeyes would make the long journey to Oklahoma and dismantle the third ranking team in preseason polls - most people would have deemed you a little bit crazy.

45-24, the Ohio State Buckeyes took the victory over the Sooners, validating all of the behind the scenes work that went into a win whose making had been well-hidden from the outside world.

Even after losing 16 starters from the previous year, the Buckeyes knew that they had something incredibly special in training camp.

Linebacker Chris Worley spoke on the fact that sometimes you can feel you have that special thing going in to pre-season and find that it is something completely different once camp starts. However, Worley stated that once camp did begin "there was no doubt" how much talent would be entering the field on game day.
