Big Ten Bowl Games

The Big Ten got 10 teams into bowl games this season and have three top 10 ranked squads. This will be a very exciting bowl season for all fans in Big 10 country.

Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic (College Football Playoff Semifinal); 8 p.m. Dec. 31

No. 3 Michigan State (12-1) vs. No. 2 Alabama (12-1)

This is the best game Michigan State has gotten in years and although they are beat up a little, are hoping to take the next step to the title match.

BattleFrog Fiesta Bowl; 1 p.m., Jan. 1

No. 7 Ohio State (11-1) vs. No. 8 Notre Dame (10-2)

A great match-up for both teams with a lot of NFL talent on both sides. Too bad Notre Dame is going to lose.

Rose Bowl Game Presented by Northwestern Mutual; 5 p.m., Jan. 1

No. 5 Iowa (12-1) vs. No. 6 Stanford (11-2)

Iowa hopes to finish off a great season with one more win. Both these teams were looking at the playoff until they lost at the end of the year.

Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl; 1 p.m., Jan. 1

No. 14 Michigan (9-3) vs. No. 19 Florida (10-3)

Two great defenses go up against each other. Can’t imagine Michigan getting beat again after Ohio State made them look silly.

Outback Bowl; 12:00 p.m., Jan. 1

No. 13 Northwestern (10-2) vs. No. 23 Tennessee (8-4)

A great season by Northwestern which would love to finish strong in this uneven match-up.

Holiday Bowl; 10:30 p.m., Dec. 30
Wisconsin (9-3) vs. No. 25 USC (8-5)

Wisconsin’s strong defense against USC’s weak offense and visa versa in this battle. Why is USC ranked and not Wisconsin?

TaxSlayer Bowl; 12:00 p.m., Jan. 2
Penn State (7-5) vs. Georgia (9-3)

This could be a really bad game with a Penn State team that is fading and a Georgia team without a coach.

New Era Pinstripe Bowl; 3:30 p.m., Dec. 26
Indiana (6-6) vs. Duke (7-5)

Indiana is hoping to get a bowl win before they lose quarterback Nate Sudfeld to graduation and running back Jordan Howard to the NFL.

Foster Farms Bowl; 9:15 p.m., Dec. 26
Nebraska (5-7) vs. UCLA (8-4)

Nebraska had a losing season but the NCAA money hogs want more games so here we go.

Quick Lane Bowl; 5 p.m., Dec. 28
Minnesota (5-7) vs. Central Michigan (7-5)

Minnesota also had a losing season which makes this game stink out loud, at least it’s a MAC team so it might be competitive for a while.
