Trevor Thompson Aiming For NBA Draft
#1

Trevor Thompson

Trevor Thompson is an Indianapolis native who played his first full season as a redshirt sophomore at Ohio State. Last year, Thompson opted to explore the NBA draft when the season ended, while also retaining his college eligibility. It seems that he will be trying again this year. However, he will return to Ohio State if the NBA draft is not favorable.

Ryan Thompson, his father, shared with The Dispatch in a telephone interview that the situation is different because Trevor's performance was much better this year which proves that he can play at the NBA level. For the 2015-2016 season, Trevor Thompson averages per game were 5.1 rebounds, 17.9 minutes and 6.5 points. However, when he returned to the Buckeyes, freshman Micah Potter took the starting center position during fall camp. Thompson was able to start after Potter was injured. After, Thompson achieved the title of honorable mention all-Big Ten because of his improved average game stats of 9.2 rebounds, 23 minutes and 10.6 points.
